Chili, Cornbread and Holiday Cheer Served at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House

LABBC program manager Sustento Group came together to prepare a home-cooked meal for families with hospitalized children through Los Angeles' Ronald McDonald House "Meals of Love" program.

LOS ANGELES, December 15, 2022 — Sustento Group, program manager for the Los Angeles Better Buildings Challenge, was proud to bring staff together this month for an annual “day of service” to provide a home-cooked meal for up to 75 families with hospitalized children through Los Angeles’ Ronald McDonald House “Meals of Love” volunteer program.

The team worked diligently together at the East Hollywood location for Ronald McDonald House Charities to prepare a menu of vegetarian chili, cornbread, salad, hot cocoa— and a heaping serving of good cheer!— for families with children hospitalized at the nearby Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“I am so proud of us and so grateful to have done this for the families,” said Megan Rosales, Sustento and LABBC staff member.

Sustento Group has made service to the local community an annual tradition. Last year, the team worked together to collect and contribute donations to the Midnight Mission, which has provided homeless services in Los Angeles since 1914.
