Earth Day 50: Together We Can
The Together We Can campaign challenges everyone to make at least one commitment to reduce their climate impact for Earth Day 50. As Executive Director of Earth Day Initiative John Oppermann notes in a Greenbiz interview, “Climate change isn’t going away, even when there are other pressing concerns like COVID-19, so we’re demonstrating how we can still bring people together. We'll have a virtual stage with a whole live team of different speakers, including activists, talking about how you can get involved.”
Climate, COVID-19 and the Economics of Decarbonizing Buildings
The global health crisis of COVID-19 has triggered an economic standstill that’s resulted in a potential silver lining: dramatic reduction in emissions and coal consumption. Greenbiz explores whether society will translate these short term effects into policy and regulatory guideposts to transform development in COVID-19 recovery, through the lens of building decarbonization.
Webinar: Energy Efficiency Can Get Us Halfway to Climate Goals
Join American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) on Wednesday, 4/22 at 8am PDT to hear a discussion about the role of energy efficiency in addressing climate change even as we battle the COVID-19 pandemic. They’ll explore how EE can be a tool to help revive the COVID-wracked economy and at the same time, get us halfway to U.S. climate goals by halving energy use and emissions.
Attend ASHRAE SoCal’s Virtual Zero Carbon Spring Technical Conference
On May 1st, 9-11am PDT join ASHRAE Socal in a 2-hour LIVE seminar (via Zoom) with a panel discussion offering various perspectives on zero-carbon building design strategies.
The goal is to shed light on the experiences, challenges, and incentives behind each discipline's practice, and then use this knowledge to improve the design and construction quality of buildings in our Southern California market.
More Ways to Celebrate Earth Day: Take Action for the Planet

But amid these uncertain times, one thing remains unwavering: Earth Day will unite hundreds of millions of people around the world to inspire action against environmental degradation and climate change. Even if it’s online. Let’s get you involved.
